Don't let your Builder Miss this One Detail!

“You need to paint WHAT?!” It’s a detail that many builders do not know about, but Australian building codes require that the edges, tops and undersides of timber doors in bathrooms and other wet areas be treated with primer and painted. Why you ask? When left untreated, water can gradually enter these parts of the door and destroy the integrity of the wood. This can be a costly thing to fix, especially if you’ve invested in unique or heritage-style doors. Make sure that your builder gets their paint rollers out! This is just ONE of the many unlikely ways you can protect the structural integrity of your building project. To learn more, drop us an email on pcotter@iinet.net.au.
